Liberty Bell Tutoring and Study Center Programs
Thanks to a partnership with, and funding provided by the Public School Funding Alliance, the Methow Valley School District is able to make free, individualized tutoring available to interested middle school and high school students. Dozens of Liberty Bell students have benefited from this program since it began in 2004, thanks to the volunteer efforts of both students and adult members of our community.
Interested students are paired with participating Honor Society students or qualified community volunteers to receive personalized assistance with their studies. Students and their tutors work together to identify mutually acceptable times to meet on a regular basis.
Students interested in receiving assistance with their studies, or volunteers interested in helping Liberty Bell students be successful with their school work, are encouraged to contact tutoring program coordinator Valerie Potts @ 996-3423 to learn more.
Students may also use the sign-up sheet in the school office to request the help of a tutor.
After School Study Center: A quiet place to study and obtain assistance
In addition to the personalized tutoring program, funding from the Public School Funding Alliance ensures that the Liberty Bell library remains open for students needing a quiet place to study or seek assistance with specific assignments from tutoring program coordinator Valerie Potts each Monday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Volunteer tutors welcome!
Additional tutors for all subjects are needed at this time to help students, with a particular need for math tutors. Tutors currently include members of the Liberty Bell High School Honor Society, as well as adult volunteers from throughout the community.
Tutors can choose to assist just one or several students depending upon their availability and area of interest. The commitment can be as little as one hour per week, and the meeting times can be flexible.
